THE COTTAGE CREW
We’re uniquely positioned to help herbalists & gardeners.
We’re a one-0f-a-kind team made up of trained writers, editors, marketers, and photographers, but we’re also experienced herbalists and gardeners. This means you’ll never have to explain to us what a tincture is or why heirloom seeds are special. We get it, and together we’ll hit the ground running in a way that’s simply not possible with your standard content studio.
Because we’re intimately familiar with this niche, we understand the audience, trends, and seasonal inspiration better than anyone. Plus, you won’t need to worry about us making beginner blunders. We already understand things like:
How to format a Latin binomial.
How to discuss herbal benefits without making disease claims.
USDA Gardening Zones, and how they affect gardeners in various climates.
The best ways to make different herbal preparations.
With our expertise on your team, you’ll be doing much more than sharing beautiful content - you’ll be leading the conversation.

Founder & Creative Director
Hi, I’m Hannah!
I’m a writer, photographer, home herbalist, and gardener. Having grown up in the midwest, I have a deep appreciation for the windblown prairie, comfort food, and kind, down-to-earth people. My dad is a published author (two of his books were made into Hallmark movies!), and I’ve always known that storytelling is in my bones.
I live in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, with my husband, Jake. In our spare time, you can usually find us hiking, exploring nearby towns, and spending time in nature. Let’s connect on Instagram @Hannah_aften.

Our Values
01
Sustainability
To love nature, is to protect her. At the core of HCC is stewardship to our planet. By only working with clients who value sustainable practices, we use our storytelling skills to promote brands, products, and services that make the world a better place.
02
Connection
Working with plants is our connection point. It is the conduit back to ourselves and to the community around us. They empower us to heal, nurture, and sustain. They provide a journey back to our roots so that we can embody our gifts more fully.
03
Inspiration
Our work at HCC is meant to inspire folks to stay curious. To get their hands in the dirt, to make a healing salve, to sow new seeds, to nurture a bountiful garden. It’s to inspire a way of living that is rooted, seasonal, and intentional.
